“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
We already know the outcome of the battle — Jesus returns and His Kingdom is established forever. But while the battle rages, let’s never forget that Jesus has already defeated the enemy, conquered death and set us free. He has also given us His power and authority, so we can have dominion over all the earth right now. He has overcome every strategy of the enemy, and now He invites us to become one with Him to enjoy the peace He has already won. Do we dare to do what He suggests and “be of good cheer”? Absolutely. A season of unemployment is nothing to the One who has already conquered both hell and death!
Declare this:
- I choose to be of good cheer and at peace because I am in Christ.
- By faith I receive His overcoming power in the face of every challenge and trial.
- I have the overcoming power of Christ for His spirit lives in me.
Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus:
Philippians 2:5
The word “let” means you permit or allow it to be. Just as importantly, it also means you don’t have to struggle with all your thoughts and plans and solutions. Just “let” the mind of Christ, his attitude and his purpose, be realized in you. Our natural tendency, of course is to seek our own way out of our problems. But our challenge is to let the “same mind which was in Christ” be also in us. Jesus was rooted and grounded in His Father. He did and said exactly as He was told. He wasn’t trying to do His own thing. Now He is in us. We just have to let His mind do our thinking for us. “Let” it be.
Declare this:
- I choose the will of my Father and my Lord.
- By faith I receive the mind of Christ and seek to be led by His spirit.
- As I allow His mind to work in me I expect to see His promises fulfilled.

Are You Trying to Make Sense of Your Work, Your Season, or Your Calling?
Most believers have never been trained to effectively manage the pressures of job loss, workplace conflict, or life transitions. Like the rest of the world they too are overwhelmed because they don't understand what is happening spiritually, how God is positioning them, what rights and authorities they have been given in Christ, and how to move forward in victory.
